My cookies (like for CAA) keep disappearing

Postby Bobtheduck » Fri Jan 09, 2004 1:17 am

My cookies, including long-term ones I don't want to ever go away (like for CAA) keep disappearing... I'm on MIE 6.0.28somethingrather, the most updated version... I also have a temporary software firewall in place, which doesn't seem to be doing much... I keep losing my login info for CAA and some other places, anyone know what's up?

1) Use Mozilla!

2) Is there any software on the machine that might cause cookies to disappear? For example, do you any internet anonymity software or spyware installed?

Perhaps someone else on your machine clears out the cookies? Do you have your own Windows account?

That's all I can think of for now.

I'm having the same problem -- intermittent cookie loss, and it's only with CAA. It happens off and on on both my Mac and the office PC they make me use, so I think it's something wrong with vB.

SL, are you sorry you upgraded yet? ;)

Your cookies keep disappearing? Better get that hole in the jar fixed, and watch that the kiddies don't snatch them from you when you're not looking. ^_~

Seriously, do you have cookies enabled in IE's settings? (Sorry, that's the only thing I can think of that might help... -_- )

Hmm.... I've noticed this as well. I'm on Camino ( mozilla clone - no upgrades recently ).

So far I don't have any probs with cookies and CAA. I use Mozilla. (As a matter of fact I have it set to prompt me every time a site wants to save a cookie.)

Hmm... Both lurky and SL use mozilla, and those of us with clones or non-mozilla browsers seem to have issues. Hmm... Did this version of vBulletin use differnt javascript, maybe?

Make sure that your user settings still have it set to remember you between sessions. TTLG Forums (also vBulletin) used to ask me to log in every time I went there, till I told it to keep me logged in.

Good point MPB. I think mine is set to do this. It SEEMS to work sometimes, though. When I logged on this morning I had to login. Cookies = null. But I logged out, rebooted, shutdown for a few hours and came back, and cookies = fine. The more I think about it, the more inclined I am to blame it on network issues than either box. hmm...
