So...in general, what is your favorite video game genre, and why?

I like fighting games, probably due to my highly competitive nature. My friends (high school, not college :sniffle: ) were all fairly good at Streetfigher, so we had some good times with that. I play Soul Calibur, Tekken, Dead or Alive, Virtua Fighter, Power Stone, Psychic Force, and Capcom Vs. games in addition to Streetfighter, and I am quite good at all of them, if I may say so.

RPGs by far, though select action games (MGS series, DW series, etc) are close behind. All of which because of gameplay and story.

I tend to be an FPSer, simply because I prefer to play games where I don't need to think too much.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Yes, I pretty much like everything. You should have put the last chioce as "All of the Above"

Sorry...I was meaning to do that. However, in retrospect, I would rather have people be more decisive. :P

I would consider changing it, though. Is there some way to do that?

Change your choice? Not likely. However, I could change your vote for you. What did you vote for, and what do you want to change your vote to?

I meant, is there a way to edit the poll so that I could add the choice "All of the Above" to the list?

Sorry for the confusion.

I couldn't choose, 'cause I like all genres about the same, so I said all of the above. Except, there is one genre I don't like.... sports..... like soccer, football, etc.... I mean I'd much rather go outside and play the sport. Now, I like extreme sport games like SSX 3, Tony Hawke 3, and 1080

I don't like sports games either. Then again, I'm not very good at them...

RPGs -^.^- Harvest Moon series and Chrono Trigger forever! :) (I also like classic Final Fantasy -up to 9- but I don't like the fanservice in FFX2 and FF12.)

I like adventure games best, although I think I may mean a different sort of adventure game than the one in your poll, since they aren't typically associated with action. I mean games like "Broken Sword", "Gabriel Knight", etc.

I like RPGs as well, as long as they're more story oriented. The only 3-D shooters I've really enjoyed were "Deus Ex" and "Cybermage"
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Real Time Strategies are the coolest by far. Warcraft 3 tries to put the RPG element in it, but it doesnt work nearly as well. RPG's are fun, just as long as they are interesting enough most of the time, and also easy enough so you dont spend 20 hours finding the next boss. All in all, I'll have to say... STARCRAFT(plus broodwar) r0xx3rs my 50xxer5.(rocks my socks ;)

I don't know if I have a favorite genre, but my very least favorite is the first-person shooter. The few that I've played have given me nightmares. (I will make an exception, however, for Ken's Labyrinth. That's the lesser of the evils and actually rather cute.) Second least appealing? Probably real-time strategies; they just don't sound interesting to me.

This is just a generalization, of course. I'll suffer through any game if the music is half-decent. ^_~
