About posting reviews

Postby Ashley » Tue Jun 17, 2003 6:51 pm

Since this thread's become quite active, we've made a slight change in policy.
For the moment we've decided to ask that you check with an admin/mod first before you post an all-out review on something. The reason is because we want to avoid fallacies that may arise; i.e. we don't want someone coming through here, seeing a review, and then thinking that's the official stance on it unless we know what you're writing. If we ask you to edit/label something in it, please comply or we won't allow it to be posted. That make sense?
When writing a review, please give consideration to nudity, sexual innuendos/scenes, violence, language and spiritual beliefs. Of course you can always just use an existing review as a guideline. Turbocat's format in Jubei-chan is the one I use most often.
One last thing; if you've seen an anime and have something to contribute, you can reply to a review thread and talk about it there; there's no need for approval there.
Thank you guys!

Well I tried to post this last night, but DjNoz ate it.

Anyway, I've noticed not everyone's been sending an admin/mod their reviews, so we've made a slight change in policy: from now on, if you do not clear your review with the aforementioned admin/mods (Ashley, Gypsy, Shatterheart, Inkhana, Lightbringer, DjNoz, Annette), there will be a note after your post stating it is not the official review/isn't approved by us yet. Once you clear it with us, we'll remove it.

Do we PM you (y'all) with the review, or, how should we go about it? I have a couple I may submit :)
"you're a doctor.... and 27 years.... so...doctor + 27 years = HATORI SOHMA" - RoyalWing, when I was 27
"Al hail the forum editting Shooby! His vibes are law!" - Osaka-chan

I could still be champ, but I'd feel bad taking it away from one of the younger guys. - George Foreman

You all catch that?

There have been a -lot- of reviews running around without approval. I quite frankly don't want to have to keep slamming you guys, so follow the rules, okay?

I don't think the title of this topic catches attention.

maybe something like: "read before posting reviews!!!" would work better.

my 2 cents.

Well when we revert to the new database (soon, I hope, when I get some time on my hands) we should have this little issue fixed, since you have to have special permissions to post over there.

Unfortunately, that mightn't stop people posting unofficial reviews over here (unless other machinations are afoot?).

Unfortunately most people wouldn't read it anyway, sadly.

Most forums have a "sticky" thread at the top of forums for FAQ type stuff and other important information, and people still post the same questions over and over, etc.

What should work better (if it can be done easily) would be that when someone trys to start a new Thread in the "Reviews" section, have it take them to a screen which reminds them that all reviews are to be run by Admins first. Then set that forum so that only Admins/Mods can post.

Just my thoughts on it.
