Well... I woudln't recommend Fushigi Yugi, Ceres, or anything by Yu Watase. I used to own all the released volumes for Fushigi Yugi and Ceres, and it was getting too much for me. Fushigi Yugi was getting into too much nudity, and Ceres was drifting a little too close to incest. So, even though the covers look appealing, and the art is so beautiful, steer clear. I told my mom to read both of them, and well, the end result was me getting rid of all of my Fushigi Yugi and Ceres manga, except for their Artbooks. : ) I would have to say Fruits Basket is one of the best ones out there. There's some lovely occasional swearing by Kyo in it, but besides that, I think it's an absolutely perfect series.
Kira recommends Fruits Basket. : )

Uh, guys...
Don't you think it would be better to concentrate on manga that you recommend rather than manga that you don't recommend. I've hardly seen any recommendations at all in some of the recent posts or people have recommended manga that don't fit in with what Hope originally posted.

Let's go back to look at Hope's post shall we:
Ok, by "clean" I mean little swearing, no nudity (or veryyyyyyyyy little) um, my mother doesn't want me to read anything with demons in it. As far as blood/gore goes, I don't want anything worse than the fourth volume of kenshin. I really like fantasy/adventure and that type of things. Despite being a girl I actually prefer shonen more. I own azumanga daioh, angelic layer, and magic knight rayearth and I've read all of saint tail. Does that help at all? I was looking into to buying D. N. Angel. Can anybody give me a plot description and/or the bad stuff in it?

To summarize...

-Little swearing
-No or very little nudity
-No demons (which means Inuyasha is out anyway, so debates about any nudity in it is pointless for this thread)
-No blood/gore worse than 4th volume of Kenshin.
-Likes fantasy/adventure
-Prefers shonen more but, from that post, seems to own or have read more shoujo.

Now, for shonen titles, I'd recommend One Piece and Rave Master. They have some blood/violence and some light profanity, but it's fairly mild compared to some titles. And they both have good stories and characters. For shoujo...
I haven't read as much shoujo as shonen, actually, but I think that I can recommend Kodocha. It's not "fantasy/adventure", but I read the first volume and enjoyed it. It seems to be fairly clean.

I love Fruits Basket. It's a wonderful story of unconditional love and selflessness on the part of Ms. Honda, and I do recommend it. But with my recommendation, I offer this warning. This manga is about people changing due to Tohru's influence on them. Since it's a manga about change, there's got to be something bad in the characters that is transformed into something good. Yuki and Kyo want to kill eachother(and I do not mean this metaphorically). Yuki is self-conscience. Kyo is a hot head. And the latter is what bothers most people about the manga. Part of his impetuous, and downright terrible attitude comes a rather dirty mouth. I have counted 15 words in there (most of which are d---). Plus, Kagura transformation back into a human is a little revealing, but nothing scandalous. Lastly, your mother seems very touchy about the demon things, so I'll just throw this out. The Sohma's are possessed by the vengeful "spirits" of the Chinese Zodiac. I consider it possession at all. It's also referred to a curse. This is really what I am convenced it is, but you'll just have to hash through it yourself.

If you can forego these rather small objections, you will find a beautiful story.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.
