TV, Movies, Sports...you can find it all in here.

It was pervasive because it was reported on Funimation's DBZ website, and Funimation is the one that retracted it, so it was a rumor

Well, according to these recent news reports from the past couple of days, it isn't a rumor...

Perhaps they're just trying to mess with our heads. Personally, I think I'll just not care until I see actual movie previews.

Wanna preview for DBZ the movie? Do an after effects treatment of Matrix revolutions, give neo big blond hair and an aura, and give Agent Smith like purple skin or something...

Lol

The DBZ movie will probably not be very good, but I'll be seeing it anyway(if it's real, that is). Just because it's based off anime.

I think a Trigun or Gundam movie would be a much better idea. I heard that a Transformers movie was going to be made... but maybe that was just a rumor.

I got this from dragonballz.com

ILM ON DBZ LIVE ACTION MOVIE by Otherworld Steve

I decided to follow up a bit more regarding the rumored live action Dragon Ball/Z movie. One persistent rumor has been that "George Lucas' CGI company ILM has signed a contract to do the special effects."

Today I called Ellen Pasternack, Public Relations for ILM. I asked her if the rumor was true; if ILM was brought on board to provide the special effects for the Dragon Ball/Z live action movie. Ms. Pasternack's reply was that it had been mentioned, but ILM never officially signed off on anything and it never came to be. She also commented that, as far as she knows, the film is not being made.

So there you have it, folks. Another death nail in the DBZ live action movie coffin. That isn't to say that the film will never be made. There are other major studios besides FOX and other effects houses aside from ILM. Who knows ... maybe Wetta will snag this property to go along with the Evangelion live action movie. Only time will tell.

Edit: I just want to clarify that a.) FUNimation Productions has absolutely nothing to do with the concept/licensing for a Dragon Ball/Z live action movie. They hold the license for the anime/games/merchandise only, and b.) this website is NOT an official FUNimation website. It is just a promotional website for Kyle Hebert and goes beyond his association with FUNimation. I hope that clears some things up.

So...it doesn't seem like there will be any DBZ movie for awhile...and that thing from FilmForce...was pretty old...well...all in all...so...yeah...sorry to make everyone feel down, I would love to see a new DBZ movie...even if it was animated...I mean...anime animation. WITH AKIRA TORIYAMA...I mean...a live action movie would be like, more for a wider audience...so, it would have alot of stuff we already knew...but if Mr.Toriyama made a brand new OVA or Movie...that would be better...atleast that's what I think...

EDIT!!!
I also found this from Dragonballz.com

NO LIFE IN THE "DRAGONBALL" LIVE ACTION MOVIE? by Otherworld Steve

I literally JUST got off the phone with FOX Studios in Los Angeles, CA. I asked outright about the upcoming live action Dragon Ball/Z movie.

This is exactly what I was told by my contact:

"The Dragon Ball Z movie? We don't have that. I 've got a lot of calls about that so I called around [the studio]. We won't be making that [movie]."

So there you have it, folks. That is the OFFICIAL story from FOX. I know some of you may be disappointed, but I also think it's a blessing.

Lunis... as you can see, I deleted all six of your extra posts. In the future just keep in mind that you only have to press the button once, even if it takes far too long and most of the time even if your connection shuts down.

*ROFL* :forehead: Boy do I feel stupid. So why am I laughing so much? XD!!

No DBZ movie?! AWWWW!! I hope they make it sometime later, though. Yeah, I think a DBZ movie would be a lot better done if Akira Toriyama were directing it. I'm just so sick of DBGT, it makes me want to gag. And of course my younger brother likes it. I just can't stand how they tried to clone a great thing and failed so miserably!! And they strut around acting like it's sooo great!! I could just claw my eyes out.

Frankly, I'd rather have Akira Toriyama not be directing a theoretical Dragonball Z movie. He did some things very well, but practically defined the increasing villain power formula. I would prefer that the director be someone experienced and with significant familiarity with fighting films of supernatural proportions.

When I said about Akira Toriyama, I was talking about an animated movie... but, yeah...I would would want an experienced director. I'd still want Akira Toriyama to be a part of the movie making process though.

Actually, now that I think about it, having a different but experienced director might be better. If Akira Toryama was directing a CG of live action movie, I think it would be a disaster! o_O
