Besides Twilight ordering a daffodil and daisy sandwich in The Ticket Master she also ate the leaves from the flower she plucked. There was another daffodil and daisy sandwich in her house in Owls Well That Ends Well and then there's the “flower smells goodâ€

Thanks for the tips, Bio! I think I'll keep working with WMM for now and see about upgrading when I finally get a new computer one of these days.

Now back to MLP... I think this would be an amusing topic: share any funny stories where you have been made fun of or given a hard time for watching My Little Pony. Or do your family/friends even know that you watch it? How open are you about being a brony?

Me, I constantly talk about it to my brother who is a big animation fan, but he won't give it a chance and he always picks on me for watching it. His wife punches me really hard any time I bring it up around her... but my brother bought me a My Little Pony coloring book for Christmas as a "gag gift" and then I think he almost gagged when he realized I actually liked it. XD

So far I haven't bought any of the toys or a t-shirt or anything, but it's probably only a matter of time. I have desktop ponies as the screensaver on my computer though. :3

My mom and sister are the only ones who know I watch it. My mom is fine with it, but my sister thinks I'm a weirdo.

My sister always picks on me for watching it. Sometimes, she even threatens to tell people I like it XD.

Felix, you so lucky, I wish someone would buy me a MLP coloring book gag gift.

I've actually been an animation weirdo long before Friendship is Magic. Watching cute shows like Ruby Gloom or recurring (repeating, rehashing) ones like Pokemon, always telling my family and friends to stop watching boring sitcoms (which they always complain about and don't like anyway) and start watching My Little Pony. I have some of the figurines, and as soon as I see the Celestia and Luna figurines I'm gonna be on them like Pinkie on cake.
Someone did ask me once about the show in public when they saw some Nightmare Night ponies on my desktop, they couldn't believe how cute it was.:-^o^-:

Ha, that's awesome :D I really wish they'd come out with a legit set of figurines for all the main characters in the show. Are there new Celestia/Luna figurines coming out? I'd love to see some figurines of the mane 6 that could come with accessories like their gala outfits and nightmare night costumes and such. I'd lay down some cash for that!

Going back to your topic of the little subtle moments that make the show awesome: I picked up on a few while rewatching episodes this week.

In Hearths Warming Eve, during the play, when Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash discover their new land for the Pegasi, Fluttershy says "I can see my future house from up here." I thought that was a great line. XD

And then in Luna Eclipsed, I noticed that Mr. and Mrs. Cake show up in one scene and they are dressed as Raggedy Ann and Andy. I loved it. There's actually a bunch of subtle references and hat tips to other things in MLP. Did you guys notice that in Griffon the Brushoff, when Dash is fleeing from Pinkie Pie and she keeps following her, it's a huge reference to Pepe le Pew.

I love that Pepe le Pew sequence! Also, maybe not as funny, but something that makes Pinkie so loveable is the part where she doubts herself after her talk with Twilight in Griffin the brush off. “Maybe she's not a mean old meanie pants, maybe I'm just a jealous judgemental jealousy pants.â€

" wrote:I think I missed that, I'm going to look out for it next time I watch that episode. Big Mac is my favourite, Voodoo Pony. And Colgate/Minuette was dressed as a dentist.

I could tell you what part it's in, but I think it'd be more fun for you to try to find it yourself :) Yes, Big Mac is awesome, and I didn't catch that about Colgate. That's pretty clever. XD

I don't get the deal with the pink Celestia. Someone in the design department must not have ever watched the show.
Here's the set I am wanting: http://trus.imageg.net/graphics/product_images/pTRU1-10816898_alternate1_dt.jpg
It has pretty accurate figure for everyone in the main six except for Fluttershy, who is, annoyingly, just a repainted Rainbow Dash. The figures are pretty small, and there's some really random extra ponies that are just palate swaps from the models of the main six. Still, I want em :)

" wrote:“Maybe she's not a mean old meanie pants, maybe I'm just a jealous judgemental jealousy pants.”

Ha, yes. I love pretty much all of Pinkie's lines. Another favorite of mine is in A Dog and Pony Show when she says "Holy Moly, that's a lot of holeys!"

Edit: Something else I just noticed. Maybe this one is obvious, but I didn't catch it til now. Rainbow Dash's costume on Nightmare Night is the costume of the Shadowbolts, those evil incarnations that Nightmare Moon used to try to lure Dash away from her friends in episode 2 of season 1. I thought that was kinda interesting.

I'm actually thinking about writing a fanfic of MLP and Lord of the Rings. Instead of the Hobbits, it's the Ponies. :D

After watching the Extended Versions I happily own on Blue Ray I wouldn't mind doing this. I would make the language a bit more modernized.

Although I don't read fanfics there is one thing I would like to know. What role will Trixie play?
I do like the fan art of Trixie as or with Gandalf, but maybe she'd make a better Saruman the Many coloured. And Snips and Snails as the two hobbit companions of Frodo and Samwise (their names escape me now).

Snails:
“Trixy, will you tell us another story?â€

Merry and Pippin, you mean? Those are the other 2 Hobbits in the Fellowship besides Frodo and Samwise.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Well I started with the very beginning so far and not only does it involve ponies, but also Cyberbots from Cybertron.

This story won't have the same situations, characters and character relations at times, just to make the story work. Just warning you all now, it won't be word for word from the original. :)

I wasn't thinking of Trixie as Saruman at first, but I guess it could work.

Sorry, I'm not having Snips and Snails in this, I don't much care for them. :/ Sorry.

Here's the cast so far (In order of appearance)

Middle-Earth = Many lands including Equestria, Earth, Helirot etc.

Galadriel = PRINCESS CELESTIA

The other wise elves behind her = random Alicorns from long past (Maybe Celestia and Luna's Mother and Father)

Dwarves = Cyberbots ((that's right, Transformers baby! ;D unless otherwise I loose interest in them or a huge vote says no bots, just ponies lol))

Men = Men (not changing the race of men)

Sauron = Satar (one of my characters that almost looks like Sauron but he has a face and much scarier then the original)

The One Ring = Same as the original.

King of Men = Haven't thought of him yet

Orcs = Orcs

Elves = Unicorns

Elrond = PRINCESS LUNA (I just see her as a commander. I don't know why ;))

Isildur = Don't know yet...might need help here...has to be someone from Earth.

Gollum = The lead Diamond Dog with the Red Vest (I can't remember his name)

The Shire = Ponyville

Bilbo Baggins = RARITY (Now I know what you're all thinking and don't worry, I know how to make her involved in the story, remember, I'm not making this word for word to the original, even though I'd love to...but it just wouldn't make sense)

Frodo Baggins = FLUTTERSHY (same as Rarity. Please have patience. I love her character so I won't be less then critical on her part)

Gandalf = TWILIGHT SPARKLE (I can bet everyone was thinking this)

Spike will be as himself with Twilight.

Random Hobbits and Hobbit Children = Ponies and Fillies of Ponyville

Meriadoc Brandybuck (Merry) = Either APPLEJACK or RAINBOW DASH (AJ because I like the idea of what her reactions would be during different situations, but RD because she seems to have that same attitude as Merry)

Peragrin Took (Pippin) = PINKIE PIE (Pippin is hilarious in the original, thus Pinkie Pie would work as well because I love her ^-^)

Samwise Gamgee (Sam) = DERPY HOOVES/DITZY DOO (I think it's time to bring her into the spotlight. An honest, loving, caring pony with no worries of the world, willing to do anything for her friend Fluttershy as she'll introduce her character and get to know Fluttershy as well, their development will be one to remember. :))

The Black Riders = Pretty much the same thing, maybe something more grisly and scary then the original. They have to be scary.

Saruman = TRIXIE (It just has to be done. Yeah, I gave in. You just can't have Twilight without Trixie)

Village of Bree = Outside of the Everfree forest with a different name that we never see, so that's where the race of men dwell (I'll get into further detail when I make the bios)

Butterball the innkeeper of the Prancing Pony = Same person

Aragorn = Aram (pronounced Air-rum)(another one of my characters. A man from Earth, he will be introduced in his bio too, please have patience)

Arwen = Jezebel (Or Belle for short)(My character. She is a woman of the Amazon taken into care by Princess Luna after she was reborn from her first self. Bio will explain)

Boromir = Need help with this one.

Legolas = Brynn (My character. A lady of the Irish Culture. Powerful, swift and fair. Bio will explain.

Gimli = Either APPLEJACK or RAINBOW DASH (AJ because of the hilarious stubbornness and headstrong sense that she has like a dwarf and Rainbow Dash...I just like the idea that's all lol)

Okay, that's the cast so far...right now...I need sleep...

CephasWhite wrote:Sorry, I'm not having Snips and Snails in this, I don't much care for them. :/ Sorry.
Snips and Snails are awesome!:P Nah, no need to be sorry, I'm not trying to dictate how you should write your fanfic, you already have an idea of what you want and that's great. I'm just throwing around ideas for fun, you know? Like these:

Gilda would make an awesome Boromir. (I'm part of the 'hates Gilda, but hope she comes back to redeem herself' crowd)
Rainbow Dash would be great as Aragorn if Scootaloo was Frodo, then Sweetie can be Sam and Gollum can be Applebloom (because she's so loud). The CMC can travel to the volcano together. (What song will Sweetie sing to lift Scootaloo's spirit? Or would Scootaloo sing a song to stop the other two from fighting?)
Now I'm going all crazy with fanfiction.:dizzy: I'll just leave the fanfiction writing to CephasWhite and get out of here.

Haha! I never caught that before Bio_Plus with the "Bio will explain" bit. LOL XD

What's with the o_O if I may ask?

Also, Gilda is a great choice, but I don't know who to be Faramir or Denethor.

I could just keep Boromir as is too, but that might not work....ugh...help me out here!

Humans with ponies reminds me of Megan from G1. I didn't like Megan, one of the reasons I was never a G1 fan.

Had to go and refresh my memory a bit, it's been a while since I watched or read LotR. If Gilda is Boromir then Faramir and Denethor could be some oc griffins. You have Aragorn as an oc, but if I think of Aragorn as Rainbow then I can see Faramir and the people with him as Wonder Bolts while Gilda stays Boromir. But could still probably work if Boromir was Soaron and Faramir was Spitfire. As for Denethor, I have no idea. Maybe Photo Finish? (or Megan hehehe:evil:).

I can't help myself,:dizzy: I have too much free time.

Taking a break from writing, I happened to come upon a fanfiction of my little pony from Equestriadaily.com titled:

"My Little Dashie"

This is my honest opinion of this story and for those who have read this story, would agree with me when I say these three words describing it:

Sad
Sweet
Heartbreaking

I don't get emotional that much when it comes to sad stories because the authors can't seem to grasp what tugs a person's heartstrings and how to write it down properly.

This tale was, thankfully, an exception.

I never felt so much emotion in my life then when my dog, Ginger died a year ago. I was literally bawling, trying not to burst out in sobs as my folks were sleeping, even though I really wanted to.

Please, take the time to read this magnificent piece of work. You'll need a box of kleenex, trust me. :,)

Here's the link: http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?p=1524649#post1524649 with the link to the story in the thread.

It would be terrible if all those pink toy isles start turning white, they might explode, twice. Sigh.:shake:

Since I brought it up I was wondering. How many original G1 fans are here? And what did you think when one of your favourite shows got the best make over ever?
I can only imagine. It's really what we all want, isn't it? Somebody coming along, pulling out the stops and turning the show we loved before into what we always wanted.

And until Nate gets a Scootscoot figure, have some Scooty Jingle bells

I like the story ideas and crossovers. And things like your views on who should be who in LotR. And I don't have anything against fanfics. But when I start reading them I become very critical.
For instance, things like sad and heartbreaking shouldn't even be in a pony story. But I'll make an exception, I really haven't given pony fics a fair change yet, so this upcoming week I'm going to read this story.

I don't read fanfictions that much but being on EquestriaDaily got me to grab a hold of it and read it after I read so many comments on how sad it was. So I said, "Challange Accepted"...boy did I lose. LOL

@CephasWhite
That was a simply bad fanfic, not horrible, but bad. Overly gloomy and mostly boring. But I can see what you like about it.
Critique about the fanfic CephasWhite posted, skip if you want(except for CephasWhite , I did warn)
I do like the story concept, it's an interesting thought, I was expecting an emphasis on death which never came and I'm glad for that, also I was able to read it to the end, I almost stopped a few times, but I still made it. I have to at least give cred for that. The whole fic is depressing. Even though it's told that the characters have moments of joy and happiness, that feelings are never shared with the reader, it's only a break that leads to the main character being depressed about something else. There is also not a lot of relationship building (that is shared with the reader) between the main character and this alternate Dash. There is also no character for Dashie (we are expected to except that she is RD and yet not entirely RD). Halfway through (Celestia arrives) and the mood of the story changes into such a confusing mess that it feels like a different fanfic. At the end it's said that the main character has changed and although he is sad his attitude towards life is better, yet once again the reader is left out of this feeling with a depressing scene and fade out and no solid conclusions.
Then there was the part where the main character reads Dashie's letter. That was the main essence of this fanfic and was really well written with a lot of feeling in there. In fact it was good enough to make me forget about the hard work it was to get to that point, and almost fooled me into thinking the fanfic was better than it really was(which isn't an entirely bad thing). But the worst (and the reason I don't read fanfics) was that it left me unsatisfied. It started to pull on my heartstrings and then left me hanging. I experienced the main character's depressions but never his joys and at the end the main character might feel better about himself but I feel worst.
There's a few creative differences and style in the writing that vexes me, but that's neither here nor there.
That was a mouth full, I wouldn't normally rant this much (it would make me very unpopular and it's just a fanfic after all), and the fic wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It also didn't take me a week to read it, shame on me for reading silly stories when I've got stuff to do.:P

Most of your critique is valid Bio, but don't forget:
Rainbow Dash was turned back to a five year old filly with no memory of who she was or where she came from. Coming in contact with the main character and having him raise her as his own for 15 years has made her absolutely convinced that she is his daughter and has no recollection of the others at all, which makes this story hard to read, IMO.

Basically this is how it played out for me:

Man loses family and is alone
Man finds stray pony in a cardboard box, which is a tear-jerker in itself, because it's a cute little RD left in a cold box
Man cares for RD as she is completely confused about everything
Man raises RD as his own daughter for 15 years, experiencing slice of life situations until she realizes who she really is and where she belongs
Man fails to tell her the truth (some cases with adoptive parents afraid that it will hurt their child)
RD forgives Man and goes back to normal
The others come for RD to bring her home which is like tearing an arm off an adoptive parent to give up their only child after 15 years, with RD coming to grips of a sudden change.
RD and Man are happy afterward with much consulting and part ways.
Man stays happy and moves on even though little its known about the final thoughts of Rainbow Dash. This is my only beef.
I was an original G1-G2 fan. I watched the movie when I was like four and from then I was hooked. It was a cute story and girly but hey, I had fun.

When they came out with the G3 toys, I was realllly annoyed. They looked too skinny, and not at all like the pony toys I collected as a kid. That, and I watched an episode of one of the shows and my mind nearly exploded from all the annoying bits. It was even worse than G1 and G2... >_< at least those series had darkness and drama, (As best as a kid's show could) G3 was..."happy, shopping, giggling, party time!"

When I first saw G4 it was a similar reaction, but I was also like "OH MY GOSH SO CUTE!" and I started watching the show and I was incredibly surprised at how much I liked it. :)

I like what they did to Spike, who was one of my favorite characters in the original. But as I said earlier this thread, what they did to Lickety Split was weird for me.

@CephasWhite I'm going to continue this discussion with you in your fanfic thread. I feel we're moving away from ponies and into general creative writing, and we can discuss at more length there.

I do like cute things.:P It really is a shame about Lickety.
More little rumours running around that Minty will appear in the show, the G1s seem to be getting hyped about that. And at least one instance on EqD that this season will have 28 episodes!:wow!: I'd like that, but not betting on that one just yet.
Another question: If you could be a pony. Earth pony, Pegasus or Unicorn? (no choosing Alicorns, that's cheating.)
Me? I feel like an Earth pony through and through.

Honestly, I would love to be a Pegasus. Using those wings to glide in the air and fly great distances, also walk on clouds and visit Cloudsdale. Then meet up with Rainbow Dash and race against her, liking the idea of being beaten by her. lol

Afterward, go meet with Fluttershy and help her with the animals, talking about how cute they are and all :3

Of course, I wouldn't mind being a Unicorn...make cleaning my house alot easier LOL

I'd probably be an eath pony. I'm such a clutz I don't think giving me wings would be a good idea and I think magic would be too complicated for my tiny brain so unicorn is out of the question too.

I guess I'd rather have wings. Because Magic is way to complicated. And being a normal pony would be boring, unless I lived by Pinkie.

Plus, being a Pegusai means like Cephas said, hanging with Rainbow Dash, and/or Fluttershy.
