As of now, I'm playing Star Trek Online (just had it's one year anniversaary).

And Earthbound/Mother 2 (A Nintendo Masterpiece that rivals Ocarina of Time in my opinion).

A bit late for the party, as is often the case, but I'm playing Red Dead Redemption. I'm not a fan of open-world games and I'm sick to death of Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series, but I just had to see why everyone thinks this one's so great.
It's actually not bad. I might maybe conceivably even beat it sometime.

Recently finished Another World and Beyond Good & Evil, two games made by Frenchmen, inspiring me to play more games made by Frenchmen in the future.

Also, currently knee-deep in Knights in the Nightmare which has surprisingly been growing on me. Still isn't the game it could have been, but that some of my complaints have turned out to be oversights on my part is hopeful.

Well, because I finally got a PSP and could stop borrowing/stealing my brother's, I finished Final Fantasy: Crisis Core. AUGH. It made me cry. Most depressing way to end a video game ever... And it really makes me wish I knew how to do that nifty spoiler tag thing so that I could rant about it.

Funny, I was listening to the soundtrack of Crisis Core for the first time in like a year just yesterday -- God I loved that game.

I admit I was sceptical about playing a prequel to one of my favourite games of all time (FF7) but it was worth it (well, except some particular story elements, but the game itself was very solid.)

I beat LEGO: Harry Potter. A nice bit of light fun.

And I've only got a few (in-game) days left of World Ends with You.

I finally beat Velius on my FFT save on my PS3 (I was having lots of trouble with him this time for some reason), and I got to playing it a bit more. I'm mad at the game right now so I'll probably leave it for a few days. Why am I mad? Because Square put on their best trollface and when Beowulf asks to join your party the default answer is "No go away" so when I was trying to speed through the dialog to get to the fight, I turned him down and I hadn't saved for like two hours.

So I mad. :l

Shrapnel

This is an indie text-based game that's free to download and won't take you longer than 10 minutes to finish. Unless you hate text adventures, you have no reason not to play it. It's not a game so much as an experience twisting the usual play of such games. I was actually disappointed by the ending and explanation, but it's still worth playing for the strangeness.

I enjoyed DA:O (Awakening was also decent). If you like Bioware games, it's worth considering since I think it's one of their best in a while. Saying that it hearkens back to Baulder's Gate isn't just hype.

Resistance 2: Electric Boogaloo
I can't say I like going from having a wide array of firearms to choose from to a limit of two at a given time. In fact, part of what I liked about the first game is that it separated itself from the Halo gameplay formula, but this one seems instead to conform in certain ways.

That said, Resistance is still my favorite FPS franchise and I'm really excited for the upcoming Resistance 3.

I finally got past Opiomorph in Xenogears, so now I think I'm almost halfway through the second disk (this game is looooooong :mutter: ). The anti-Christian themes are getting more and more prominent with every minute, but at least I know what the opening cinematic has to do with the story now :P

Radiant Historia: Time-travel RPG from the Radiata Stories creators and Shin Megami Tensei team. Having a taciturn secret agent as the main character is pretty awesome...

I beat The World Ends with You! What a great game ^_^ So fun to play, and a great story too.

I also started Chrono Trigger (on the DS). I'm really excited, because I've only heard good things about this game. I'm not very far yet, but so far I'm basking in the nostalgic feel of it.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3

The core fighting is well-done, and I personally don't need the extra modes. I am, however, disappointed with the online matchmaking system, hopefully it gets patched in the future.

Now here's the question, because I keep hearing different reasons why people hate it.

Do you hate it because of the combat changes? Or do you hate it because of the storyline and characters?

I've been playing "9 Hours 9 Persons, 9 Doors" for the DS and it is awesome! Fantastic game if you're into puzzles and stuff... It's also extremely text heavy but it excels at storytelling. I've played the game 3 times so far (you can skip all the text you've already read and try different paths to get different endings... still have yet to go through all 9 doors and still haven't got the good ending yet. Each time you play and choose different doors, the story changes a bit and you find new information about the mystery and what's going on and everything). In each door are rooms you get trapped and locked in... you got to solve the puzzles to unlock the door and escape from the room. Fun fun fun.

Up next is Ghost Trick... similar to Ace Attorney and such I hear... Something about you're a ghost and you gotta solve your murder. Another puzzle game ^_^

WHOOO ITS RANTIN TIME

The combat's hunky dory. I mean, I'm not IN LOVE with the button mashing aspect, but it's fun enough. I'm really not sweet at all on the enemies popping out of nowhere, though. That's really annoying.

My problem really lies with the boring, shrill, stereotypical characters and complete and total lack of any plot whatsoever. I'm not gonna say Origins' plot was genius or anything, but at least you felt like you were DOING something when you ran around on pointless errands and side quests ("YAY, URN. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THIS DOES BUT I FEEL IMPORTANT.") There is very, very little context for what you're doing half the time in this game, and when there is, it is boring.

The characters are all cut from this weird, out of place, cookie cutter sitcom format. Isabela = skank. Merrill = mousey. Aveline = tough chick. Anders = Alistair, but with the charm of a wet sponge and dialogue ripped from the Twilight series. I'd go on, but I honestly can't remember who the other characters were. Except Varric, who is all right, I guess.

The dialogue is terrriiiible. I don't mean to say everything should be all "HAIL TO THEE SER AND WELL MET" but the word "Buttcheeks" does not belong in any high-fantasy story. Ever. Speaking of, the game's attempts at humor are sad, predictable and Fable-y. Which is not good.
This especially hurts the game since it's supposed to be so much more "personal" than Origins, which is fine. There's a lot to work with in a story about a hero trying to keep their homeland safe. Problem is, when you're meant to spend a lot of time with your friends and family, and your friends and family are totally uninteresting, the game stops being escapism and starts being my homelife but with chainmail bikinis. The other big plot motivator is keeping Kirkwall safe and making a name and home for yourself there.

Kirkwall SUCKS. The people are awful, the city is ugly and samey, and overall there is not one redeeming quality about it. There is no reason to care what happens to this horrible place. Your family SUCKS,
Your brother/sister dies within ten minutes of the game, your mom does absolutely NOTHING except whine until being inevitably killed off near the middle of the game, your OTHER brother/sister is a whiny tool, and your uncle is a whiner who predictably steals from you.
STOP WHINING, FREELOADERS.

There are a few minor complaints aside. The narrative style of the game bugs me, what with Varric relaying it, and the only reason it's set up that way is to plug DA3 and shoehorn in a pointless cameo. Game's as buggy as all get out. Companions will sometimes just stand around while you do all the fighting. Female Hawke sounds like an uppity princess all the time.

I hated this game.

OH. But for what it's worth, the kiss scenes in this game are HILARIOUS and AWESOME.
