Getting Married

Talk about anything in here.

Postby Mr. SmartyPants » Sun Nov 07, 2010 12:29 pm

Haha. My mom used to care. I think she gave up on me continuing a traditional Korean marriage.

I'm kind of an iconoclast. I think most traditions are unnecessary. lol

True that. Plus my parents are pastors either way, so there's more than just cultural assimilation going on.

And then I was watching this comedian talking about how in the far future the massive amount of interracial marriages will turn the entire world brown. I lol'd. Eventually, there will be no such thing as racial purity.

But the trends as of late show that i like Wasians... <_<

Ok... First pictures to put up. Image

She hates glasses... They're actually mine. She's praying I'll get at least 25/20 vision soon. I think it's a great pic, though. She's smiling a real smile, and it's clear and the colors are good... Anyhow.

Image

This is one of only two pics I have of us together. This is the better of the two, believe it or not. I'm waiting on some pics that friends took of us, though... My digi-cam is about 6 years old, or more, and not in the best condition... It likes to think the battery is dead when it's brand new, for instance, and shuts down.

Image

We met at a Church barbecue (at an Army base, actually) and I got interested right away. I thought she was too, but that was just me misinterpreting things like I always do. If it weren't for me misinterpreting a lot of things, we probably would have never ended up together though.

We're in California right now. She's Korean, and she's lived in many different places. She lived in France for 6 years, in Spain for a while, and in Mexico. She speaks 4 languages (I'm trying to get her into Japanese, which should actually be easier for her than for me, because Japanese and Korean grammar and logical processes are much closer than Japanese and English) which would be her FIFTH language... She wants me to learn all the same languages, so I've got some work ahead (I don't think I want to learn French... I said Russian, but she's not happy about that idea.) Every once and a while she gets her languages mixed up, though... She was ordering hot chocolate and asked for "deux"
