Worst fad of all time

Talk about anything in here.

Lady Gaga is this thread.

Also, I do hate the denim-print knit...

But feet are most definitely the worst fad ever.

Pretty much this. And pedowolf. And if my man busted up my car, I'd be calling the police and dumping his butt.

But honestly, I could have easily done without getting my ears pierced. And I think it's pretty terrible to pierce your kid's ears when they can't even voice their own opinion as to if they even WANT to get their ears pierced.

And babies just don't give a crap what they look like. A friend of mine at work was going on about how silly it is to buy the expensive licensed clothes for babies. They grow out of everything quick and don't care who Piglet is, lol.

Speaking of Disney movies and fads and such, for some reason Lilo and Stitch is SUPER popular here in Japan. It's kind of weird. But the upshot is, nobody cares about Twilight. XD

I noticed that!! (How could you not? Lol...) I couldn't figure out why... And I saw teenagers wearing Sesame Street clothes? O__O

Lilo & Stitch is an amazing movie though, so I didn't mind, lol.

Oh, I think this idea popularized by men that "women belong in the kitchen, making me a sandwich" or something should really die down. I don't think it's funny at all... And my male friends on Facebook keep joining groups that promote it. I find it sexist.
I don't mind making food for my family and friends, in fact, I like to do it often, but being told that it's "where I belong" and getting demands about it along with the insinuation that I'm not useful for anything else besides kitchen work...
I just think it's offensive. It's kept me from getting a job at a deli because I would get that joke all the time. :/

Sadly I don't think that's going to happen any time soon. It's all about feeling disenfranchised. Men used to have more rights than women, and when women started to show that hey, they're people too, men felt threatened because they were no longer unfairly privileged. So, the human reaction is to insult and belittle a gender who only wants to be equal with men. It's sad, really.

It also doesn't help that groups like Quiverfull exist that promote the idea that women serve no purpose except to be baby factories. But I won't go down that road here.

My Dad is like that! When I was younger I used to enjoy baking cookies and things but then he started talking about how it was so good I loved cooking, it meant boys would like me.

I loathe cooking now. It annoys me how I can't quite articulate why. XD

Oh, I hate that kind of joke so much. Once a guy actually said to me, "You're a woman, so shut up." I wanted to cry. It made me so angry.

I see it kind of the same way. I enjoy cooking and doing nice "feminine" things for guys like baking cookies and such, but if they expect and demand it of me just because I'm a woman, they no longer deserve it, because they aren't real men.

Also, speaking of which, you know what else is a horrible fad? All of my friends getting married.

This is why I usually only tell these jokes to guys. For example I go up to my friend Daniel and say, "Daniel get back in the kitchen and make me a sammich."

I can understand why it makes people upset so I only use it with my friends who I know won't take it personally.

Perhaps he means that schools which set up meet and greets with rappers for their kids are terrible.

Either that, or Timmy fell down the well again.

Country music is great! What are you talking about? (Unless it's that twangy hillbilly music or really sappy songs. Those I don't care for.)
Concerning ear piercing, I'm not sure if I responded to that before, but my mom had my ears pierced when I was really young and the "professional" lady did them too low and now I can't wear earrings too long or they bleed.
I'm not sure if this is a fad. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned before. But guys, PLEASE don't take your profile picture in a bathroom. And better yet, avoid taking those shots in the mirror. You have arms. It's possible to extend them enough to get a picture of your face.

Some rap is great too but I figured as long as we were making generalizations about music that people like I should join in. I just want to be popular. ;.;

Okay, do we seriously have to start bashing music genres? If they're popular or exist at all, somebody listens to them.

I listen to country music. Am I correct in assuming I'm an idiot for liking something so obviously horrible? I mean, I don't like heavy metal or Christian rock, but I'm not gonna say how horrible the music is. I don't get the appeal of rap either, but nobody's making me listen to it, for goodness' sake.

It's just music, guys. I'm probably taking this too personally, but it's one thing to say "I don't like this", and another to say, "man is that stupid".

Just my two cents. Sorry for the rant. XD

EDIT: Okay I guess I should take this back? XD

You know what a terrible fad is? How all the new books coming out have to have a close-up on the face. Like, half the face. It's so overdone. I don't want to see people's pores on my book covers. It's creepy.
