Implied meaning of Untz.

Postby Rusty Claymore » Fri Sep 10, 2010 7:47 pm

After reading a post where someone replied with "Untz untz untz" I found myself using it. A lot. In place of grunting and other sounds. I figured before I should ask if it implied anything, or if anything negative is even loosly associated with it. I want to stop using it anyways, but still good to know about random stuff.

My cousin loves Utz cheese balls. He says he once wrote a letter to Utz telling them they needed to make their huge cheese ball barrels with an opening big enough for his head to fit through, so that he could just stick his head in and munch on the awesomeness.

We get those too, my little brother (I think it was him) ate some while playing xbox, so now one of the controllers has cheese ball gunk in the buttons..."stick his head in and munch on the awesomeness." is an awesome line by the way.

I think we should make this a normal phrase in the English language.

"Oh, man, that cake is so great I just want to stick my head in and munch on the awesomeness."
"I loved that concert so much, I stuck my head in and munched on the awesomeness."

Some people take it in a different way than just music sounds... I have been the embarrassed one who has said that phrase and people give me an "O_o you did that?" Look.

I'm known for being the "innocent" one in my group of friends if that gives you an hints.

I'd stop saying it personally, but mostly because it's annoying! XD

Yeah, I'm almost clear of it. Normally I'd say ouch, but it turned untz...
I figured it was an implied blip, especially since fish's link had a lot of related videos titled to push CAA limits... back to nonsensical onomatopoeia.

You could call it "doof-doof music", which could be less misunderstood as.... non-music beat sounds....

Titled to push CAA limits? o.O I'm not sure what that means. The one Fish linked is called "Theater" because I think that's what the title of the track is on the official Persona 4 soundtrack. However, because it plays in Rise's dungeon which is called the Marukyu Striptease, some people just call it "Striptease."

It's kind of like how the Bon Jovi song "You Give Love a Bad Name" is called "Shot Through the Heart" by some people because that's how the chorus starts, even though "Shot Through the Heart" is actually an entirely different song.

Not Fish's link, but the related vids. And titles, not content. I was just dealing with the implied, so I said push limits rather than "Break CAA rules". If I posted a striptease video I hope I'd be banned, but as you said it was just the title. The title "striptease" and the audio effects in the song just made me a little more wary of the implications in the word "untz" is all.

Whenever I'm not sure if a word might have a horrible meaning or not, I go to the dictionary for people of the city (not posting a link, because it's... well... you know), because if any word has a foul meaning, that website would tell you. I look words up so I don't accidentally say something dirty without meaning to.

By the way, I looked up Untz. There is no foul meaning.

I believe the other onomatopoeia you guys are subtly hinting at is "unf unf unf" which definitely carries some non-CAA-friendly connotations.
