Any Dragonforce Fans?

Postby armeck » Thu Mar 12, 2009 12:25 pm

hi! i love dragonforce!!! i love the vocals, and the power metal! i was looking at the lyrics to a bunch of there songs and: in the song "my spirit will go on" they sound christian, they also do in "valley of the dam***" (don't want to take any chances with strikes) adn in one song they talk about fallen angles. but in "the worrior inside" he refers to it as a devil (only once and it dose not really fit with the song) so what do you think??

also i don't want to here any crap about how you think i am a freak because i like dragonforce, or think they may be christian!

I'm almost positive they aren't. That's not saying some of the members aren't though. The name of the band actually comes from the game Dragon Force (for the Saturn I think) so a lot of that stuff may be related to the game. I've never played it though. A lot of their songs do sound very RPG inspired.
"Who is this?" they said to Me
'That the wind and waves obey
Come, let's hang Him on a tree
That His reign should pass away'
But here I am I say to you
Though you turn away, it is My will
To love you for forevermore
Peace be still, peace be still

98% of their songs sound the same.
They're okay, I guess.

They're good at shredding but if you gave Herman Li an acoustic guitar and told him to play an acoustic solo he's probably sniff it and bark in a confused manner.

Herman Li uses quite a bit of language during concerts and the band members can be seen in many pictures giving the middle finger. So generally, I would say they are not Christian. Kind of odd, in my opinion, considering everything else about their music is clean and their lyrics are virtually always on the positive side for a metal band.

I enjoy DragonForce. They are one of my favorite bands. Yes, many of their songs can sound a little too similar at times, and this is something I would love to see them improve on in the future, but for me it works and I've enjoyed their stuff thus far quite well. I look forward to their fifth album.

Most power metal is on the positive side. I can't even think of a power metal band that doesn't have positive or hopeful lyrics in some way. Kamelot maybe but even they have a messages of hope running through their stuff... they're just a little more "angst-y" than most power metal bands.

And I've also noticed that while the lyrics of most power metal bands are quite clean with no language and stuff, they sure do like to shoot em off at the live performances :P

Based on what I've heard from friends who've gone to DragonForce concerts and from what's been listed here...I would probably say that DragonForce is not a Christian band nor even really trying to be a Christian band. So yeah...just repeating what everyone has already said...

This is pretty much my opinion about DragonForce as well...the problem, though is that I don't think they are going to try and improve on this in the future and really they shouldn't. They've found a formula that works and it's not a bad idea for them to stick to it untill they are rich and old...but that's just my opinion...
