I use Firefox myself, but also have Chrome, Opera and Safari installed. If I could rid myself of Internet Exploder, I would.

I think there's a disconnect between what people like, and what they use. I like and use Firefox. I like and do not use Chrome. I tried to like Internet Explorer 8, but it didn't happen.

I have Firefox and internet explorer. I use both... equally I suppose. But I guess I prefer Firefox.

I'm a Camino user. I like the Gecko engine, but I prefer Cocoa to XUL, even though that meant giving up whatever extensions I had for Firefox. I tried starting up Firefox again recently and found it to be unusably slow.

I've found that there are legitimate reasons to use text browsers. Like when X mysteriously stops working. Or when you're waiting for X to compile.

I top two are Fire Fox and Opera 8D Safari is nice, but it doesn't let me color coat my emails D:< Lol, I'm a picky one aren't I -_-?

I think you can take off IE :-? Unless, the button is a lie ~(O_O)~ I never used it, but in the Set Program Access and Defaults, there's a Remove Window Components. I've never tried it, becasue I'm afraid I'd mess things up more then I've probably already have >_>]My Web Browser Flow Chart[/B]

Oh yeah, many times I've had to use a text browser to look up how to get those blasted nvidia drivers working!

@Tsuku: A text-based browser is a web browser that has no graphical component, and only displays text. Which is useful if all you have to work with is a text terminal, such as when your graphics drivers won't work. Here's a picture.

I don't understand most of what you just said, but I use Camino too! I like it. XD Firefox kept randomly shutting down, so I figured I'd use Camino instead, and it's worked great ever since. XD

Some of these other browsers do seem like they merit at least a look though (disregarding Internet Explorer, of course

). Will have to check them out.

I followed a fairly natural progression.

IE -> Firefox -> Opera -> Chrome

Each was better then the last, in my opinion.

Havn't used Chrome yet.

Speaking about removing IE, a friend of mine tried to remove it once, but I don't know if Windows is able to operate well without it. Then again I havn't tried myself.

I used FF on my windows but since getting a mac I've only used Safari cause that's what it came with. I can't tell much difference between the two and see no reason to download any other browser right now.

I'm a PC guy, so its natural to me that I use IE; although Firefox is pretty cool.

I don't know about Safari, it's weird to me....and I'm not saying that because its normally for Macs.

I use a little-known browser called Flock, which is made by the same development team that discontinued development of the Netscape Browser. I like it a lot and it works really well for me. ^_^ But since it isn't in the poll, I voted for my second choice -- Internet Explorer 7. :lol:

And I see from looking at the home page that version 2.0 is out. *download~*

I'm always either on beta or nightly builds.

Currently I'm testing out the Safari 4 beta (80%) and using the webkit nightlies (20%). Firefox when I'm in Linux or Windows.

(Although as a web developer, it's common to have 6 or 7 browsers on your OS at any given time)

But if you were to twist my arm, I would first deck you in the jaw because I don't play the arm-twisting thing, and then pick Google Chrome as it's a little faster than the others, it offers spell check, and YouTube tends to stream video's really fast![/color][/SIZE][/font]

Google Chrome is just so much better. It's incredibly fast and Idk why anyone would use anything else.

The reason Chrome is so fast is partly because it uses WebKit, which I believe is the fastest HTML rendering engine now, and partly because of its Javascript engine, V8, which was designed intentionally to be really, really fast. Of course, that may change pretty soon, since Firefox 3.1's new Javascript engine, TraceMonkey, is supposed to be as fast as V8.

my preference is firefox

however my company runs an international website and through user statistics most people still use IE, followed by firefox then opera then chrome.

The world will soon see the beauty that is Chrome, the Ferrari/Maserati/Bugatti of browsers.

Btw, People only used Internet Explorer because they can't use computers to save their lives. As a geek, I find it hard to believe anyone would use IE out of choice.

I have Firefox, Chrome, IE7, Safari, Flock, Songbird, as well as QTWebBrowser, Portable Firefox, and PortableTor to run off of USBs.

I prefer Firefox most of the time, but occasionally use Chrome.

I only use IE when forced to... Which is generally when some features show up (mostly microsoft made) that only work on IE for a whole version number of a browser, or for when companies just choose to specifically make something only work on IE for whatever reason (um... netflix?)

Otherwise I use firefox... And the PS3 browser for watching video on my TV, which is the only thing it's good for.
