Me too, but since I have it reserved at Gamestop, I WON'T be buying it at the best buy in west hollywood... Instead I'll just have my copies of Portable ops and MGS1 and Virtual Missions to sign (I've actually never OWNED MGS2, and I let a friend borrow MGS3... By "let borrow" I of course mean threated his life if he didn't play it... He still hasn't gotten past the Virtuous mission...)

Well, Gamestop sucks around here. Like I said before, a lot of the stores were only getting two of the bundles each and one of them was getting four.

Well.

Employees have been promising them to other people before they went on sale. So each store actually only has one. So there are only about six of these things in the whole city.

I am VERY disappointed in Gamestop over this.

My fiance's camping out at one of the stores as we speak, trying against impossible odds to get the only one they've got. @_@ Wah.

I'd love to go to the Best Buy in West Hollywood, but... to be honest, I think I can wait until AX to see Mr. Hayter. It sounds like a blast, though... so have an awesome time.

The operation was a complete failure...

I was number ten... out of eight PS3 bundles.

Looks like I'm going with plan B... leaving class early tomorrow!

There's a happy end to our story after all.

Daymon got there early enough to get one of the two PS3s at this one Gamestop. He got there at 7PM, talked to the manager, who said he would sell it to him at 10PM, but he couldn't pick it up until midnight. He waited in line for like five hours and then got his PS3 at midnight. XD I was even a good sport and camped out with him for a little while. So 80GB PS3 and MGS4 are ours now.

Now if I just had the 170 bucks for Rock Band...

I was in the group just about to get into get stuff signed, and the jerk manager of the best buy says no more signing...

Says they said so 40 minutes ago, but NO ONE came out to the line... Where were they saying this? Inside the ruddy store?

Yeah, there were a LOT of angry people... Screaming and people were about to rush the manager and shouting curses at him, and rightly so... We weren't warned... We were in that line for hours...

Completely wasted night. I didn't even get MGS4 because gamestop was already closed long before I left...

Tycho CAN kiss Big Boss' rear end. After playing the game for about two hours last night, I can say that my only regret is that I am not playing NOW because I have to be at work at noon. This game freaking rocks, whether you're a Metal Gear fan or not. After the first couple of cinemas (which, without spoiling anything, ARE there to kind of set the tone in a manner that reminded me of the satirical commercials of the first RoboCop film... that's not a bad thing), the actual game itself is one of the most intense experiences I've had playing a game. I'm not going to say anything about the story but I will say that after playing the last couple of Metal Gear games, the jumpy, edge-of-your-seat and walking into a gunfight blind feeling of the first one was mostly gone for me. This one has COMPLETELY restored that element. I actually felt like sneaking around was worth something this time. I'm into it. I can't wait to get back and play more later today.

Right, because it's impossible that he genuinely dislikes the game! I mean, every time somebody popular presents an unpopular opinion, surely they are just lying to get people upset.

That's how we know Yahtzee is secretly a JRPG fan and has a shrine to the Dragon Quest games in his room.

I hear Big Boss will also be appearing, I wonder how that is going to turn out. And hopefully Raiden will stay have a big role. I can't wait to get a PS3 to just play MGS4, I bet the masses are pouring out today to get their copy of MGS4.
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

In one cutscene, there was a scrolling beetwen the MGS games that where made includeing MGS4... However, below it there was two slots that said. *under construction.*

Could we be expecting a couple of new MGS's? :D

I'm calling shenanigans on this one, Nate. Tycho and Gabe enjoy their share of stirring the (not-nice-word-for-crap) pot and you know it. You can try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I've read enough of their stuff to know that they aren't above some pretentious we're-going-against-the-crowd-to-get-a-rise posturing. It seems to me that this is just one more opportunity for them to rain on the parade of people who were excited about something.

Are you mentioning me along with Tycho? Whom I don't happen to know yet.
I don't even know why I was even mentioned in your post, last time I recalled, I usually try to avoid raining on people's parade. I happen to be very happy about MGS 4's release, despite not having a PS3 atm. Sorry if I'm misunderstanding you , but it sounded like you were talking about me along with Tycho. I only ask because some give me the nickname Gabe here at CAA.

No, I'm sorry, Gabriel, I didn't even make the connection that there might be a misunderstanding with the names! Penny-Arcade is a web comic by two highly opinionated gamers named Tycho and Gabe. If I'd referred to you, I would have said Gabriel, not Gabe. Pardon the misunderstanding, I was trash talking Penny-Arcade and not you!

By the way...this game is still kicking insurmountable amounts of boo-tay. The firefight with Liquid's personal unit in the hotel? HOLY CRAP!

I'd agree with you if it wasn't for two things:

1. They've never liked the MGS games, showing it even way back when MGS 2 was released. It wasn't as if they just randomly decided to hate this one for no reason.

2. Tycho ADMITS HE BOUGHT IT. If he was saying "I hate it and Kojima will never get my money!" maybe you'd have a point, but when he readily admits "I sometimes wonder why I buy every MGS game that comes out when I profess to hate them," the point is kind of destroyed.

Also,
The firefight with Liquid's personal unit in the hotel?

Is this some sort of euphemism?
