best fighting game series ever!

I think id be best to separate 2-D and 3-D fighting.

In terms of 2-D

Toss up between Guilty Gear and Street Fighter Alpha

I don't think the 2-D Mortal Kombats were ever that good, they all felt chunky to me... I don't remember being able to combo that well...maybe if the Rush and combo meter weren't the same thing hehe

In terms of 3-D:

Hmmm...Dead or Alive for me. My favorite was 3.

I'm going with Super Smash Bros. for its accessibility, but also the ability for advanced players to show their skills appropriately (i.e. the system is not "dumbed down", but simply streamlined).

Smash Bros. Closely followed by Marvel vs. Capcom and Guilty Gear. :3
