Quote from OneManga
Team Medical Dragon focuses around a genius surgeon, Asada Ryutaro, whose methods have made him a bit of a renegade in the eyes of Japanese doctors. The manga exposes the "illness" of the Japanese hospitals and how their system is not designed to care for the patient.
The manga is appropriate for mature audiences and contains blood, nudity, harsh language, and sex. You have been warned!
He's one of the department heads, I can't remember which one (emergency, perhaps?). Other than being taller than many characters, he doesn't look all that different. The most important thing he's done so far is cover the cost of the procedure when Asada saves the people who come in without insurance. Then while they're performing the batista operation, he's the only person watching who understands everything (unlike the hospital director and cronies).Mave wrote:
I don't quite know who this American guy you're talking about since all I remember are this bunch of really hapless, unethical or highly stressed out Japanese doctors/interns.
OOOOHHHHHH that guy. He's American? *falls over* I couldn't tell and can't even remember his name but yes, he's the Emergency Department Head. I agree, he's pretty interesting and intriguing since I find him as that shrew guy who is quite ambiguous at the moment. I think Asada has some idea of what he's up to but couldn't be bothered...yet.
I rather suspect the first chapter exists mostly to draw in readers of a certain type.Mave wrote:
Alright, I think that the first chapter is the most laden with fanservice (mostly big boobs), nudity and sex.
I agree here too. It either draws certain readers in or makes the others run away screaming "Purity, my purity!". XDDDD
But as a whole, I get a kick out of watching him defy the "system" and stress out his interns/colleagues by his unconventional ways.
What I want to see is the characters slowly manage to change the system via infiltration. That's why Asada's sponsor (Katou? Can't ever remember her name) is interesting to me, even if I don't like her character overall. Hopefully as the batista succeeds and they gain allies through the various arcs the series will move in this direction.
Oh yeah, definitely that. The point of the series is to see if this new Team Medical Dragon can revolutize this hospital and how. I also don't quite like Katou but you've got to give her credit for being utterly ruthless, determined and tough. She's the type that makes things happen. XD
