it has been on a mature level
they were NOT I repeat NOT banned for being non-Christian. I would welcome non-christians who truly are open to Christian theology. But people like Yaoi, Kyou, Agnosticman, and Gotenks were NOT seeking Christ at all, nor were they mildly interested in Christianity in the least. If anything, they flaunted the fact they were non-christians. I do believe evangelism is indeed important, but I will not allow this community to compromise its standards and hide under the term "outreach". It is quite possible to be Christians and not permit everything. And if no one else in the Christian community believes that, we will teach them to and be an example.
Besides, you're forgetting what effect this would have on younger, less strong brethren. We've already had one member say that if YS had not had been banned, he would have left. Think of what we're saying if we let openly, nay in some cases anti-christians join the site and just be all hunky dory with it?
I don't know how much clearer I can make this. Yes, we are a Christian organization, and inherent in that is the responsiblity to evangelize. But I will not allow us to tolerate anyone and everyone saying and promoting anything and everything. Understand? Again, the fact these people were non-christian was only secondary to their first offense: openly supporting things this community is very clearly against. If a buddhist joins up and says, "hey, I'm a buddhist, but I want to hear what you guys have to say" or something like that, I'll be fine with it. It's all a matter of the heart.
