welcome to my poetry

greetings fellow writers and readers, i hope you enjoy a bit of poetry (if that's what you want to call it, to me it's just writing random phrases that all have a common train of thought)

Silence and Seasons

Silence like a wall
Like a canyon
Like the abyss
Stands between us
No way to be united
How did we become so separate?
Were we not on the verge of greatness?
Now, all we are is the occasional glance
The muffled comment
The furrowed brow
Can there be reunion?
A time of restoration?
Will we walk side by side once again?
I hope upon this idea
I have been made a promise by one who is reliable
And I do trust in him
Perhaps after all it isn’t the silence that divides,
But the season that keeps us apart
Our dance began as two separate dances,
But we were united after a time,
The beat turned and we have been separated,
But the beat will turn again
And we will be united once again,
And this time we will finish our dance together…

The Tool

I lay here
Quiet, still, silent
In wait
I know what I am to do
But it is the waiting that kills me
I hear a sound from outside
Can it be?
Has my time finally come?
Finally, an opening before me
All I can see is light
I’m bathed in it and made ready
Suddenly, I see the place I am to go
I hear moaning and screaming
I can even smell the salt of their tears
Can they not see that there is light here?
Just like lightning I am thrust into the darkness
The evil surrounds me, but I am protected
Finally, I feel it, the sign I have been looking for
A hand reaching towards the light, but never able to find it
I’m drawn back out and placed back where I belong
Then he reaches into the darkness with his own two hands
And finds the hand reaching back for him
He pulls with all his heart and draws her out of the shadows
Tears begin to fall from both their faces
As he embraces her….forever

Very good, a little sad though, keep it up
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.

Silence and Seasons
Interesting, and pleasantly esoteric. The journey does not travel in a circle.

The Tool
I rather like this one. I appreciate the waiting, and how the tool's role is very much that of a tool. Your ending is nice also, with the emphasis on the eternity of God's love instead of the humble tool.

[i]Two vast and trunk-less legs of stone stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, half sunk, a shattered visage lies. Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare the lone and level sands stretch far away. On the pedestal these words are inscribed:

“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!â€
