For some reason that name conjures thoughts of the black Heartless creatures in Kingdom Hearts. I dunno, maybe I play too many video games.
The Dancing Bananas! Lol, no, I didn't really have anything specific in mind. We should probably wait until we can come up with a name that really defines us, on second thought.

And the Dancing Bananas doesn't? Hehe, good one, Wolf.
My idea probably isn't any better, but I keeping want to find a Latin or Greek dictionary and search for a meaningful word which would also make a cool name. You're right though, there's no rush on a name--it isn't really important, just a frivolity. I wouldn't even care if we remained "those four nuts from the writing forum."

Well, I know it defines you and me, Eso, but I'm not so sure about Fish and Chips and Godly Paladin

Ooh, that would be fun! (The Latin or Greek name, I mean.) And since I know a little Latin, I could come up with a Latin motto!

I named myself after a popular seafood dish. I'm probably not going to be inherantly close minded over titles here.

Hmmm...possibly "Paperback" something?

Well, there has to be some reason you named yourself after such a prominent British staple. I mean, it's not something you'd normally pull out of thin air...or is it? :dizzy:

You're doing the Hubbard Sci-Fi contest? Me too (well, except that I haven't come up with anything yet. I'm submitting for the April 1 deadline).

That's a really good storyline in my opinion--very engaging. The ending was surprising, too (well, I kinda figured it out, but wasn't sure at first).

Heh, well, I thought about it. Then I decided the story wasn't anywhere good enough to win contests.

But HEY, thanks for reading! *grin*

Are you KIDDING me? The previous winners' stories are bland (I read them, thinking that they were interesting, but had to stop before the 2nd page). Don't ditch it, fix what you think needs fixing--its a great storyline (I'm not saying that to be nice). I think it may need shortening, though (I'm not sure).

A new idea for what we could call ourselves: The Bathroom Writers' Guild

Explanation/Assurances That I'm Not Insane: I don't know about you guys, but I find that a lot of my ideas come to me when I'm in the bathroom. I guess it's because there's nothing really interesting in there, nothing to distract your mind really. I once came up with the entire stanza of a poem while in the shower, and there've been a whole plethora of ideas I've acquired there as well. So...I don't know if that applies to you guys or not, but.... :red:

You're not the only one! I come up with ideas in the shower (while singing *ehem*).
Hey, that guild thing is a great idea, in my opinion.

Clever, Wolf, clever. However, a name which requires an explanatory addendum so as not to be misinterpreted by the general public, is a risky idea.

Don't know about F&C, but Wolf is away on a trip and should be back very soon. I'm here, of course, but in case the others don't happen to check this thread, perhaps we should move the guild reminders/meetings to PMs? Since it's possible to send a PM to four people at once, it would work nicely.

Bob the Tomato: Remember - God made you special...

Junior Asparagus: ...and He loves you very much!

Both: Bye! *hop offstage*

*Larry hops onstage in his PJ's, yawning*

Larry the Cucumber: Is it time for the show?

*Lights turn off*

Larry the Cucumber: Aw, nuts.

:eh: *Wolf goes off to write for the three-month project, quoting VeggieTales along the way*

I'd bookmarked this thread a while back, planning to read the attached story. I finally got around to it this evening. Very nice -- I really like the grim, dystopian, noir style. Also I liked the bittersweet ending. I find happy endings can be rather unrealistic but completely hopeless endings are a little too grim for me. I thought this was a nice blend.

And good luck with your guild!
