He's one of the department heads, I can't remember which one (emergency, perhaps?). Other than being taller than many characters, he doesn't look all that different. The most important thing he's done so far is cover the cost of the procedure when Asada saves the people who come in without insurance. Then while they're performing the batista operation, he's the only person watching who understands everything (unlike the hospital director and cronies).

I agree, he's pretty interesting and intriguing since I find him as that shrew guy who is quite ambiguous at the moment. I think Asada has some idea of what he's up to but couldn't be bothered...yet.[/color]

But as a whole, I get a kick out of watching him defy the "system" and stress out his interns/colleagues by his unconventional ways.

What I want to see is the characters slowly manage to change the system via infiltration. That's why Asada's sponsor (Katou? Can't ever remember her name) is interesting to me, even if I don't like her character overall. Hopefully as the batista succeeds and they gain allies through the various arcs the series will move in this direction.

read the first volume of the series. Gave up on the series after that. The series looked interesting because the artist did Hikaru no Go and Death Note. Unfortunately, the manga was simply another excuse to let loose a wild barrage of fan service.

After that, the whole series gets into the more interesting content - medical procedures and the Japan health system (at least one hospital), including the politics. So, the question is can you get over the first chapter without feeling traumatized? Obviously, UC and I didn't sweat over it. I think the blood refers to the operating table (hello, we're talking about surgeons here) while the harsh language....I eh, didn't quite notice it.

With that said, everyone has been WARNED. *stands on CAA mountain and yells "Unclean unclean!!" XD Btw, it's perfectly OK if you don't like the fanservice aspect of this title and choose to reject it. You shouldn't if it causes you to stumble! I'm definitely not recommending it; but I'm looking for fellow members who by chance, read it too.

Is it like House?

I've only watched House Season 2 but it sure is smelling like it. House but with better looking characters and less grouchiness? Maybe. XD

The series looked interesting because the artist did Hikaru no Go and Death Note.

Forgive me but I must correct this: Obata Takashi did Hikaru no Go and Death Note. Nagai Akira did this series.

You're not talking about....Blue Dragon: Ral Grado, are you?

If you are, we are talking about completely different titles. I agree: Blue Dragon: Ral Grado has a lot of fanservice and is drawn by Obata Takashi. I dropped it after a few chapters because it wasn't interesting enough for me to overlook the fanservice.

jon_jinn: I echo what Mave said about manga-ka and possible confusion. But on Blue Dragon, I did finish it, and let me say you're not missing anything. No really redeeming qualities story-wise.

Yeah, it will be interesting to watch how he develops as a character.

It is an okay series in my opinion. It is quite fast paced and gets increasingly political in nature. It reminds me of those TV shows about hospitals. And I agree that the first chapter does not really fit well with the story at all, but perhaps it is the author intention to show that Asada isn't a saint?

I went ahead and read the first volume. I agree, the first chapter doesn't go at ALL with the rest. Maybe it was the author's intention to reel readers in, seeing as it's the first chapter. ^^;

you and UC are quite right. i mistook Team Medical Dragon for another series. i apologize. anybody looking into this manga may kindly disregard my previous post...
