I like the Thievery Corperation. Have you listened to much of their other music? I'm very partial to The Cosmic Game.

Yes, Thievery Corporation are brilliant dub producers, taking notes from Public Image Ltd. and the Post-Punk era and applying them to the age of globalization. With more police harassment of protesters at this year's G20 summit and rumors of war with Iran, I thought this album was a timely acquisition. So far I've listened to Radio Retaliation and The Richest Man In Babylon, although the tracks and samples I've heard from The Cosmic Game have remarkable dub space.

The Richest Man in Babylon is the next of their albums I want to pick up. I've heard Radio Retaliation and The Richest Man in Babylon as well, and they're excellent tracks. I'll have to go pick it up soon. :D

I bought Lennon Legend-John Lennon last time. Now I don't really like some of the anti-religion lyrics he has (you know being Christian), but I do VERY much enjoy all the lyrics he has about peace and love in his songs <3.

The Brian Setzer Orchestra - Songs from Lonely Avenue
The Brian Setzer Orchestra - Ultimate Collection
Brian Setzer - 13
and my favorite........
Bela Fleck - Throw Down Your Heart: Tales from the Acoustic Planet Volume 3.

"Throw Down Your Heart" is an interesting CD that features Bela Fleck on the banjo (of course) in Africa with a bunch of African musicians performing African music. It sounds weird.....but it is AWESOME. Everyone should give this recording a listen.
"To be a good listener, you must acquire a musical culture...you must be familiar with the history and development of music, you must listen...to receive music you have to open your ears and wait for the music, you must believe that it is something you need ...to listen is an effort, and just to hear has no merit. A duck hears also." - Igor Stravinsky

I haven't heard Converge, but excellent choice with the other two...Futures has got to be one of my all time favorite albums and ABR is made of radness.

MY FRANDS, I have been schooling myself in the way of metal. CDs purchased in this last week:

Black Sabbath - The Dio Years
Sonata Artica - Days of Grays
Epica - Don't remember the name of the album actually
Dragonforce - Inhuman Rampage
Coheed and Cambria - Same with this one, but I think I might sell these guys. The riffs are awesome but the singer's voice gets on my nerves pretty much instantly. I've not been able to listen to them without instantly shutting them back off.

WRONG.

KEEP IT.

Coheed is a fanfreakingtasticamazing band. Which one did you get?

Give Claudio's voice a chance. Once you adjust to it, you'll love it. It just has to click.

Futures is such a good album. I've been listening to it nonstop.

ABR IS made of radness. I love how unabashedly heavy they are. I don't know what it is about them. The new one is soooooo much better than Messengers, too.

Welcome to my Nightmare - Alice Cooper (Instant Favorite. Vincent Price cameo!!!)

Mega!! Kung Fu Radio - Powerman 5000 (It's okay. I hated it the first time I listened to it but it started to grow on me a bit the second time through. It's a bit too rap-ish for my usual tastes.)

Love it to Death - Alice Cooper (I do.)

School's Out - Alice Cooper (Don't like it (the album) as much as his other 70s stuff, but its got some stand out stuff. School's Out (the song) is his most classic song and definitely one of my favorites)

Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper (Another favorite of his 70s albums. This one might be very well number three on my list, with Welcome to my Nightmare as number one and Alice Cooper goes to Hell as number two.)

Hey Stoopid - Alice Cooper (Haven't had a chance to give this one a good listen too yet. (Been busy listening to the other albums I bought) but my quick run through of it is more than enough to tell me it's pretty good. The most stand out song for me is Might As Well Be On Mars.)

Hey, Dude, I have all of those except the new Future of Forestry. Good choices.

I just bought the new Switchfoot album Hello Hurricane. It's awesome. Holy crap.

I also FINALLY got around to ordering Brave Saint Saturn's Anti-Meridian after a year.
