hey, I think the body proportionality is fine since it's a relative thing. Just by looking at Disney and some anime/manga (try Sailormoon and GALS!, looong legs XD;; ), I wouldn't worry about it. I may agree with the beefy arm part though. ^_^

As for the hair, some artists opt for the halo style, although, the zig zag and gradient styles are other alternatives I've seen. I suspect Griffy is going for the gradient style. I think the pic is kawaii in general ~

Comments and another drawing

Postby Golden_Griff » Tue Dec 28, 2004 8:22 am

Hi guys. I've managed to pull myself away from my brand-new Gamecube long enough to return with another drawing :eyeroll: :

http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?t=15731

Syreth wrote:About the hair, I'm not sure what you're going for, but in the polykarbon tutorial I looked at, they said that hair usually has sort of a "halo" of light around it. I've used it quite a bit and I've found that generally it looks good, especially on girls. The site is http://www.polykarbon.com if you're interested.

Oh yes, polykarbon.com. I remember that site. I stop using their tips though, because they are too, um...manga-ish? :eh: The figures look too "serious" for my humorous style  (wait...humorous...*rubs chin* is that my style??? )

Griff returns with sketches and doodles

Postby Golden_Griff » Mon Jan 03, 2005 3:09 pm

YEEHAW! I finally found that piece of paper that I scribbled that porch piggy on. Lol, it's on a page of my rough draft for a paper I was writing about the image of women in the media in freshman year :eyeroll: Anyway, just thought I'd add that interesting (or not so interesting) fact. Yeah, it has comments next to it; I sometimes write comments next to my drawings :eyeroll:

I've been doing some drawings to improve my skills in certain areas, the body in particular. That would explain the undressed "female mannequin" :eyeroll: (I'll be happy to have it removed if it violates the rules) Next thing to work on: clothes (I hate collars ) :shady:

And...I was organizing my art portfolio earlier today when I found the Amber and Bertha doodle. That was drawn some time ago. I think it's cute so I decided to post it too.

OH YEAH! I almost forgot; I have posted yet another picture in the gallery ;) :
http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?t=15983

EDIT: Crap...I just noticed that I didn't put the buttons on the man's jacket :eh:...

Awww I love the bunny-eared pig. ^_^ .

Hmm.... your style is kawaii humorous... I think. But it's also cool as well (points to angel Luigi at start of thread)... why is style so hard to define?! @_@

Well, whatever your style is, I like it. :)

Postby Golden_Griff » Sun Jan 30, 2005 4:24 pm

Yep, I've been a worker bee during my abscene :)

EDIT:grrr...I hate when I dont have the order right -_-;;

#4--Chibi Reno (FF7) someone who's starting to grow on me :P

#3--A little clown/doll. I was studying how to draw chibis (with the chunky legs XD )

#2--Yep, that's Golden_Griff having a pep talk with herself. This describes the day where I looked in the mirror and decided not to be negative about my artwork ever again :thumb:

#1--A singing fairy. I plan on making a wallpaper with this one. It's kind of blurry though :eh:

Muhahaha  Don't think that's the last of them! Griff shall be back with more

*Bestows upon you a MNPP* (Muffin of New Picture Posting)

Wootness! Awesome new pictures, GG. I like the mirror angel chibi and the singing Angel is so cute - very flowing with nice curvy lines ^_^. I like all of them. ^_^. The rag-doll's outift and hair are definitely three thumbs up (though as usual I'll have to use a big toe because I've only got two). ;) :thumb: .

ROFL!!! I loved that Sesshomaru comic - hilarious. You're very good, Griffie and WELCOME BACK!!! Where have you been, dahling? ~_^

Totally OT: For the first time I realized what it says on your location, "is that my son in your window?" o_0

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.

Course he is. Here at CAA we're all releated. Take me for instance. I'm Chloe's second cousin's mother's step father's dog groomer's house-sitter! ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Related? Some times I wonder. How can you be related to a form of energy?
Take it like you gave it; what else matters in the end? To be honest, it's all a one-shot test; that leaves plenty of places to go wrong, but how will you ever know? There's a pointer, I will admit. Turn it on, listen to it, feel it burn.
