Hey guys I'm the newbie but I am interested in starting a Bible study and it occurred to me that I know a lot of people online so I was thinking of starting an online voice chat Bible study with or without video chat. I was thinking about Skype or tinychat or something like that to pretty much get a group together to do a Bible study. I like to run Bible study very casually and I think it would be a good idea but I would like everyone's opinion on it. Thanks!

That would be an interesting idea, I have a skype account that I never use, and I would need to dig out my camera as my laptop didn't have one pre-installed, but I would be up for the idea.

Are you going to lead it, or is it going to be more like a group discussion?

Also, availability would be an issue for many people, especially if they lived in different time zones.

There might be a few other things I haven't covered, but I'll come back if I have any more questions.

Yeah we would have to figure out time zones. We would need to pick a time that is good for everyone and i would "lead" it i guess it would really be me making conversation happen and getting the ball rolling and asking questions and what not.

Another program you could use is Raid Call. It's free like Skype, but it's voice only.

No problem mullet as long as we all respect each others theology we will all get a long, no one has the same theology. And that's a good idea.

How about Wednesdays after 7:00 P.M. Central US?

I have a Bible study at seven on Wednesday already haha! But any other day is fine.

Are mornings good for anyone? I have most mornings off from work, and I also don't get home until about 10:00 pm EST from work on most days. If we did it after 10:00 pm, that would be fine for me as well.

I have school in the morning but I wouldn't mind a late night Bible study.

Evenings are best for me, sometimes I have class as late as 9 though.

cool! I would like one more person so I will wait. our first meeting will be talking about what book we want to study and I will be getting skype premium for us.

I guess I'll have to back out lol. There's no way I ca stay up past midnight and then get up for work at 5:50.

I think I will have to back out too, I don't think there is any way I could try a bible study at 12:30 in the morning. At best I might be able to attend some, but then drop out around 1:00 am EST (11:00pm PST), my main problem is not waking up my family that early in the morning.

If we do it Friday I can do it earlier :) If that will help other people.

Yes, Friday is fine by me, and earlier would be VERY helpful
