What's your love language?

Talk about anything in here.

Without taking the quiz and just basing this on the knowledge that I've had of this concept for the last several years, mine are very likely to be physical touch and quality time. This probably explains why I'm so weirded out when people I barely know hug me, because I am always like, "Oh my gosh, you can't like me THAT much already, I've only known you for like an hour..." XD

Also I can tell you what my language is not. XD Gift-receiving or giving. XD I can't even explain how stressful giving gifts is for me, and receiving them spontaneously makes me feel guilty, because I just don't think about material gift-giving as much as I think about "hey, I like this person, so I'm going to spend some valuable time with them." XD That's just how my brain operates, I guess. XD

EDIT:

After taking the quiz for singles:

Quality time: 11
Physical touch: 10
Words of Affirmation: 6
Acts of Service: 3
Gifts: 0

Pretty much how I thought it'd turn out. XD

Right? XD It's especially weird in today's society, where wanting to spend time with someone instead of getting them a gift is seen as "cheap." XD It's sad, because that's never my intent, and it has so much more to do with not knowing what's appropriate to buy and the fact that I see hanging out as a lot more valuable than it does with not wanting to spend money. XD

I'm exactly like that! I give hugs to people who I just meet that I happen to like. I like it when they don't get creeped out by it.
"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus." While I'm not much for getting gifts, I love giving them. But that's because I bake, and bake a lot, and my friends love my free baked goods- and seeing them smile and enjoy them is something that warms my heart. It feels like I'm doing something to make their day brighter.

I bake a lot and make a lot of stuff. Back when I was 10, I used to make incredible sculptures with Sculpey. My love language has changed throughout the years.

Honestly, I think that gifts you made yourself hit a whole lot of these languages all at once. There's the obvious gift quality, but it also has a quality time component (Both in you spending time to make the cookies, and in my eating the cookies and learning something about you), and also in Acts of Service, as you went through the trouble to bake the cookies. It also offers me an opportunity to offer Words of Affirmation in return.

The lesson here is that homemade baked goods are the best gift.

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

Quality time, touch, acts of service.

Not to big with words or gifts...makes me feel like people are trying to buy me off or something...

I'm going to goof off and say British English with a touch of Welsh.

In all seriousness, physical touch, the sight of a smile, laughter and understanding.

Pretty much what I thought:

11 Words of Affirmation
10 Quality Time
1 Receiving Gifts
2 Acts of Service
6 Physical Touch

And that is pretty much the same with my experience. Hearing someone say something deep or meaningful to me has profound impact on me. But gifts just don't mean much to me. Quality time is a close second though. I like spending time with those I like and it means the world to me to know they want to spend time with me.

I think I scored the highest in getting gifts than anyone else in this thread (an 8). [s] I must be a selfish jerk. [/s]

Man, everyone in this thread is all touchy-feely, I scored 0 on physical touch. I doubt that means I hate hugs or have mysophobia (or does it? O: ), it just that it's not a required thing for me to feel loved. I won't get super depressed if no one gives me a hug. XD

Oddly enough, acts of service clocked in at an 11. [s] Further proof I'm a selfish jerk. [/s]

But I still say words, words, words~
