Just Bought!

Postby yukoxholic » Wed Apr 23, 2008 1:28 pm

I started this thread so everyone could post the games they just bought.

I just bought Eternal Sonata for the Xbox 360. I'm really happy about the purchase since I got it for $40.00 instead of the original $59.99 price tag. I can't wait to start playing it! :D

I believe that's pretty much the purpose of the "What Game Are You Playing Right Now?" thread.

Oops, didn't even think to look to see if there was another thread like this. Silly me. Though this is games you just purchased thread I suppose games you are playing right now pretty much have posts like this. I'll be sure to look the next time I create a new thread. A moderator can remove this if they like!

I don't really agree with you Raiden -- I rarely play a game when I first purchase it. I have a buffer of about 10 games between purchase and play-time -- and that's not including things that I go back and play through a second time, 10-15 years later. :P

Just bought Lost Odyssey, myself. Have fun with Eternal Sonata. It's pretty good.

Okay, but I think you'll find you're in the minority. You must have either a lot of disposable income, or very little time to play.

I USED to have a ton of disposable income, and NOW I have no time to play. And soon I'll have a ridiculous amount of disposable income. So I suppose you may be right. Which isn't helped by the fact that the average age around here is lower than most forums I frequent. :P

Theres a What Anime Are You Watching and theres a Anime Collection thread where people posts the DVDs they just got. Theres a "What are you listening to?" and "What was the CD you bought" thread too.

I don't see anything wrong with this. I still haven't gotten around to playing FF IV even though I bought it in december :D Also bought Chrono Trigger for PS1 2 months ago :D Just don't have much time to sit down and play em.

I bought Capcom Fighting Evolution and Riveria: The Promised Land today, for PS2 and GBA, respectively.

I'm returning CFE, I didn't care for it, I'm probably gettign King of Fighters XI instead. But Riveria is interesting enough.

I might get The Metal Gear Solid Collection w/ KoFXI as well.

Just bought Chulip on a whim since it was only 3.99! Will most likely be picking up Lost Odyssey soon if I can find it used at a reasonable price. :D

I know what you mean! I wish PS1 games were easier to come by. I wish I hadn't missed my chance to get Legend of Dragoon and Parasite Eve. >___< My last PS1 game purchases were Koudelka, Final Fantasy IX, and Vagrant Story.

I just imported Mother 1,2, and 3 for GBA since Nintendo of America is evil and doesn't like giving fans what they want (unless you're a Mario fan).

Just got Dark Sector( pretty good but not as good as other shooters such as Gears of War, Resident Evil 4 etc).

Far cry Instincts Predator( better than the original version)

Lost Odyssey( haven't played it yet)

Alien versus predator Gold ( haven't played it yet)

Alien versus Predator 2, very good for a old pc game.

Half Life Anthology , have not played it yet.
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Well, if we're going to hang on to this thread, I just got Final Fantasy VI for the GBA. This will actually be the first Final Fantasy for me to play through (I have Tactics Advance, but never got into it). I've played bits of VII and VIII, but I've heard so many good things about VI that I figured I needed a copy. XD

My brother just bought One Piece: Unlimited Adventure this past Saturday...and he says it's awesome (I haven't played yet; I've just been watching, but hey, I really don't mind...I get to see the story at the same time he does and all I've gotta do it watch). Also, the FUNimation voices for the One Piece characters are at least 100,000 times better than the other English dub voices (I mean, hearing Sanji say "tray-key-a toy-no-vah!" in that strange accent was starting to get obnoxious. I'm not going to speak of it on here any further, as it wouldn't be allowed, but the newer voice for Sanji is most definitely an improvement. "Collier shoot!")

Only downside is that my brother can only play video games on the weekend because of school, so I have to wait until this weekend to see what happens next.

Copy/paste from the "The World Ends With You" thread, since it would fit here too.

I just picked it up [yesterday], though I left my DS at home so I won't be able to play it til [this] evening. GameStop was mobbed with people getting GTA IV. The sales guy saw me and opened his mouth and I said, "Before you ask, no. I'm actually looking for The World Ends With You." People looked at me like you might look at someone who has just walked into a Healthy Grocer and asked for a can of SPAM.

Metal Gear Solid Portable OPS Plus, Chocobo Tales, and Mario Kart for the Wii. You can tell today was pay-day!

I cannot find The World Ends With You anywhere! It's becoming very frustrating!

Sweet! Bought the last copy ( I think of my entire state!) of: The World Ends With You. I must've ventured to more than 50 Game Stops. I get to the last store I was going to check for the day and there it is, someone's on hold copy waiting there just for me! Thank you person for not showing up!

Well... let me see. I haven't had the time to play them very much, but my newer games are(I got good deals on these, so I couldn't pass it up): Street Fighter Alpha Anthology, Street Fighter Anniversary, King of Fighters XI, NeoGeo Battle Coliseum and Mario Kart Wii... I had some of those 2d fighters before, but I had traded them, but I got the urge to play them again. I got all those for $40 in near new condition!(excluding Mario Kart... that was a reserve)

I believe Crisis Core is the second best selling Squ'eenix game of all time (not sure whether this counts when they were 2 separate companies or not...) and it can't ALL be on pre-release hype... In fact, the only place I've seen anyone say anything negative about it is on CAA and on Xplay (because they hate the 7 universe as a whole)

Nah, I've read responses to reviews of Crisis Core and most of the flamers were people who don't like Final Fantasy in the first place.
