I've never liked unlockables, period.

Does the sticker concept remind anyone else of the koma panels in Jump Super/Ultimate Stars? Dangit, I still need to get that game . . .

I'm fine with additional modes so long as they're just thrown in with the main focus: multiplayer games. They can provide some idle fun.

You guys all hear about some characters being leaked? Like two veterans and a newcomer? :D

All I have to say about the interview is this: Sakurai-san's hair reminds me of Light Yagami.

. . .

Carry on. That was all.

I knew they were going to have a side-scrolling classic Mario stage. And Koji Kondo himself did the arrangement of the classic theme! Yay!

Three words: Ness, Jigglypuff, Lucario.

'Nuff said.

Or if that's not 'nuff, here's a screenshot from an official video released by Nintendo Japan.

Image
The video was explaining and showing off the sticker system, but it seems they showed off a little more than they probably intended with the character bar, which shows which playable characters may be selected for equiping/removing/viewing stickers.

oops.

First of all, I'm skeptical whenever anyone talks about leaks. Sencond, the hat is definitely Pokemon Trainer, not Ness. First, it has the little bit of white on the hat, and second, all of those icons ore Pokemon related.

Agreed with meboeck. It's probably a list of who can "equip" that sticker, and why would Ness, with no connection to Pokemon, be able to equip a Pokemon sticker, when the only other ones are Pokemon?

Tis not the picture with Ness in it; I'd post that one if I could remember where I found the pictures. I swear, it's the weirdest thing; I can't remember how I got to those two pages. Here's the one of Ness, but I am unable to find the hi-res ones again.

Image

So, while I'm not able to find the high-res pics, I did manage to find the video (which Nintendo has since pulled from the site and replaced with a modified version). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfb2l-iYlRo is the original version of the video.

There was a conversation in this thread about that a while ago. The general consensus was epic win.

If you have other things to tend to, don't take the time to point out whether we have or haven't discussed something when you haven't even read the whole thread. :p

Anyway, so that I might remain on topic, it's nice to see that the Wi-fi test battle seems to have no visible lag. Oh, and that new Mushroomy Kingdom level looks... freakishly amazing.

Yep. Very cool.

Although I'm not too sure about the old game demos...it's okay, but not really the neatest thing ever.

Unless you're into that sort of thing.

That "Masterpieces" thing is so lame. :\

Oh wow. They're delaying the game to put in The Legend of Zelda. Great. Because I don't own the NES cart. Or a ROM. Or bought it when it was rereleased for GBA. Or bought it when it was rereleased on the Gamecube. Or unlocked it on Animal Crossing. Or bought it off the Virtual Console.

Alex, your prayers have been answered.

Go to the previously posted video and skip to between 4:08 and 4:09.

And yes that icon is definitely Ness, but I don't understand why this is indication that he will absolutely be included. Either way, I'm still fairly confident that he'll be included in Brawl.

I thought Alex wanted them as an assist trophy. That's just one of those regular collectible trophies.

Apparently the icons show which characters you can equip the stickers to. As far as Ness goes, I hadn't thought about it before, but they specifically said on the website that Lucas' regular moves are complete;y different from Ness's. So that would mean that Ness would probably keep his standard moves but get a new or partially new special moveset.

Hey here's some interesting news I received...

At work, we have Brawl advertised for Feb 10th, what everyone's been waiting for after a long delay, but heard from the Nintendo rep on the phone (as well as receiving a flyer correction notice), that IT IS BEING HELD OFF UNTIL MARCH 9th!!! This cannot be just a store, or even Canadian thing, because why would they do that? I know sometimes the Canadian release dates are like, a day after the American one (although the whole Assassin Creed thing was weird here).

Still, be aware of a possible delay for yet another month >_>

*looks on IGN* Oh it is posted there too >_> I suppose this is old news. Maybe I did read it and it emptied from my head in forgetfulness >_> Ooops

I thought he just wanted them to appear... like... at least be recognized. XD

But an Assist Trophy of them would be awesome. A giant 2D Picture of them could appear and they can be like "OSU! TATAKE! OUENDAN!" and random speech bubbles could hurt enemies or something like that. XD

There's one thing I'm worried about. If you do your final smash with Samus, you become Zero Suit Samus, right? Are you ever able to regain your suit or not? Because if not, I think that's kinda lame. D:

They've announced Zero Suit Samus's full moveset, and her final smash is Power Suit Samus. So apparently each version of Samus turns into the other with the final smash. But since that's the only way and some people play without items, I have a feeling that you will be able to start with either version of her. Or at least that ability will probably be unlockable.

Yup.

Does anyone else on here think they're trying to cram too much into one game? I mean, Subspace Emissary is cool and all that, but (and I know we're going back to the whole "masterpiece" thing again) it seems like too much. Just too much.

But don't think I'm against having 48 characters in total, 'cuz I'm totally not.

Dunno. A NES game is like... 10 kb in size, at most. N64 games are 10-20 MB. What's the capacity of a Wii disk? I don't know, but the amount taken up by those game demos probably isn't very much. Maybe they are even downloadable demos.

I don't think she meant in terms of disc space.

But yes, I agree. I think they're just adding way a bit too many unnecessary features in this game.

I'm going to go against the flow here and say that this isn't too much content. Honestly, if I play this game for half the time I played SSBM, I will need this many things to do.
