Gametap - Game Website (Problems)

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone here has heard of Gametap.com?
It's a game site where you can play some selected games for a month or two (for free).
What I'd like to know is how it works.
I downloaded the Deluxe player (free) and then tried to download Hitman 2 to try out and it said I needed a Gold membership (which costs).
Has anyone else encountered this?
Everywhere else on the site it indicates Hitman 2 is free until December 31st, 2007 (which hasn't happened yet).
Any help?
