Have fun. Remember, if you need a breath of fresh air, open a window and stick your head in a building.

I'm in rochester, not NYC, but thanks. I got there safely... I actually flew into Toronto... I didn't get to get the "Canada" experience while I was there because I saw the customs place and all three terminals and then the long coridoor outside of one of the terminals as I chased a bus for quarter mile that I had left my bag with all my clothes on. Then I got the spinning ugly orange light scenery as I was on the freeway most of the time at night going back towards NY... I did get to see some canada icons: Esser gas station, a maple leaf on the other gas station, and a maple leaf flag next to the american flag as I crossed the border... I'm going back while I'm here so I can actually experience Ontario, at least the southernmost part of it. Until then, I'm gonna get the "Empire State" experience.

You survived The Hell That is Pearson, that's always good news. Anyways, have a fun trip.

PS. wouldn't it have been simpler to fly into Buffalo?
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Neil Postman
(The End of Education)

Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge
